Sexual Violence is…

  • rape

  • incest

  • child sexual abuse

  • sexual harassment

  • not letting you say “no” to sex

  • sexual talk or touching between adults and children

  • any forced sexual act or touching Top

If you have been assaulted…

  • Remember that no one asks for or deserves to be assaulted.

  • Call SASC at 234-2266.

  • Talk to someone who will listen to your feelings and help you carry out your decisions.

  • Ask for what you need.

  • You have the right to decide whether or not to report the assault to the police. Top

If someone you know has been assaulted…

  • Believe her. Know that survivors of sexual violence have no reason to lie.

  • Don’t judge or blame her.

  • Listen. Let her tell you as much or as little as she wants.

  • Help her find support.

  • Ask her what she needs. Don’t tell her what to do.

  • Remind her of her skills and her strengths.

  • Get support for your own feelings and reactions. Top
