- Rape

Without consent it is a crime!
If you have been assaulted…
- Remember that no one asks for or deserves to be assaulted
- Call SASC at (613) 234-2266
- Talk to someone who will listen to your feelings and help you carry out your decisions
- Ask for what you need
- You have the right to decide whether or not to report the assault to the police
- Believe her. Know that survivors of sexual violence have no reason to lie
- Don’t judge or blame her
- Listen. Let her tell you as much or as little as she wants.
- Help her find support
- Ask her what she needs. Don’t tell her what to do
- Remind her of her skills and her strengths
- Get support for your own feelings and reactions
How to make a difference...
- Don't use the word "rape" to describe passion or desire
- Interrupt sexual harassment at work or school
- Teach sons and other young men that sexually pressuring a date is unacceptable
- Make your neighbourhood safer: Leave lights on, organize a neighbourhood watch
- Take our training course and volunteer your time
- Invite us to speak to your group
